About
Es Nova is a sound-based art project working with real-time composition in contemporary art contexts
Es Nova operating at the intersection of music, visual art and performance.
The work is grounded in real-time composition.
Rather than producing fixed pieces, Es Nova develops situations in which sound emerges in direct relation to images, spaces and temporal conditions. Each performance is a construction in the present: structured, but not pre-determined.
The ensemble functions as a single organism. Individual roles are absorbed into a collective process where listening, reaction and transformation define the form. This approach allows the work to adapt to different contexts, from film-based projects to site-specific installations and live performances.
A central aspect of the practice is the dialogue with visual material.
Es Nova operates primarily within contemporary art environments, including galleries, museums and hybrid spaces, where sound is treated as a material for constructing experience rather than as a musical product.
